Central New York Coach Lines was founded in 1930 by Harrison Sweet to assume the operating authority of the bankrupt
New York State Railways between Utica and Little Falls,NY on the east and Utica and Syracuse on the west. On the Little Falls
Division, communities served were Herkimer, Ilion, and Mohawk, while on the Syracuse Division, communities in between served
were: Vernon, Oneida,Chittenango, and Sherrill. Both divisions met at Utica, where buses on each division turned back.
There was no through routing of trips of either division. In 1992, CNY Coach Lines' fleet consisted entirely of MCI coaches
of several models. The following is the1992 CNY Coach Lines roster of buses then in operation:

In 1995 the assets and authorities of CNY Coach Lines were acquired by Birnie Bus Service, thus ending 65 years of service
by this company to its service area under that name and the Sweet Family ownership.
